Special Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Bob Pitel 5:00 PM

Members Present: Bob Pitel (Pres., La Crescent), Dan Lenselink (VP, West Salem), Terri Lenselink (Sec., WS), Chris Wolf (Port.), Del Scanlon (Girls Rep., Reeds.), Oak Moser (Tom.), Dawn Bernamann (Selects Dir., Sparta), Dave Long (Stat., CRGH), Timm Klemm (Baraboo), Tim Flood (Ona.), Ron Bryant (La X),Tom Steele (Vir.), Fran McDevitt & Bill Rickoff (Winona), Kelly Richert (BRF), Gary Brenizer (Altoona).

This was a special meeting held before the League Scheduling Meeting. The following issues were discussed and/or voted on:

Altoona representatives were there to discuss the decision made by the WMHL Board to remove Altoona from the League due to their lack of meeting attendance. The Altoona gave reasons why they felt they should be allowed back in the league and took questions from the other representatives present. Lots of people in the league have been upset by Altoona’s forfeiting of games, their unwillingness to travel to this area, no contact people available etc. The Altoona reps responded that those would not be issues if allowed back in the league. There was a motion by Reedsburg to let Altoona back in the league seconded by Baraboo; motion accepted.

The following are the proposed teams per association:

Altoona: Mite I & II, Squirt II, PW II, Bantam I & II, U10, U12, U14

Baraboo: Mite I & II, Squirt I & II, PW I & II, Bantam I, U14

BRF: Mite I, Squirt I, PW I, Bantam I, U12, U14

CRGH: Squirt II, U12, U14

Dells/Delton: Squirt II, PW I, Bantam I

La Crescent: Mite I, Squirt II

La Crosse: Mite I, Squirt I, Squirt II, PW I & II, Bantam I & II

Onalaska: Mite I, Squirt I & II, & II, PW I & II, Bantam I & II, Midget

Portage: Mite II, Squirt II, PW II, Midget

Reedsburg: Mite I, Squirt I, PW I, Bantam II, U12

Sparta: Squirt II, PW II

Tomah: Mite I & II, Squirt I & II, PW I & II, Bantam II

Viroqua: Mite I, Squirt I & II & II, PW II, Bantam I, U12, U14

West Salem: Mite I & II, Squirt I & II, PW I, Bantam I, Midget

Winona: Squirt II & II

No questions regarding placements of the teams.

Mite I: 10 teams, split randomly of 5 teams each into Red and White Division. Play in each division twice and the other division once.

Mite II: 5 teams

Squirt I: 8 teams

Squirt II: 16 teams, split randomly of 8 teams each into Red and White Division.

PW I: 8 teams

PW II: 8 teams

Bantam I: 8 teams

Bantam II: 5 teams

Midgets: 3 teams

U12: 5 teams

U14: 5 teams

Mite I Red Division: Baraboo, BRF, La Crescent, La Crosse, Viroqua

Mite I White Division: Altoona, Ona., Reeds., Tomah, WS

Squirt II Red Division: Ona., Viroqua, Winona, La Crescent, Port., Tomah, Altoona, WS

Squirt II White Div.: Ona., Viroqua, Winona, Baraboo, CRGH, Dells/Del., La X, Sparta

Divisions with 5 teams Schedule 3 games against each team to make more games.
